I was quite struck last night by the interest shown in the books I brought along, defending and exploring and working with the idea of the inspiration of the Bible. Let me just clarify that I wasn’t suggesting people read them!! Some of them are fairly technical theological and philosophical works written for the Academy. My point was simply that brilinat, contemporary, and someetimes leading theologicans and scholars hold and defend these views, and that it isn’t an idea that was maybe around in generations gone by, but which has no intellectual credibility any longer!
